Also Known As:
BS EN 60432-3:2013, also known as IEC 60432-3:2012, is a standard that specifies the safety requirements for tungsten halogen lamps. This standard is applicable to both single-capped and double-capped lamps with rated voltages of up to 250 V. These lamps are commonly used in various applications such as projection (including cinematograph and still projection), photographic (including studio), floodlighting, special purpose, general purpose, and stage lighting.
This standard, which is the second edition, has replaced the previous edition published in 2002 and subsequent amendments. The major changes in this edition include updating the requirements and tests for lamps that are self-shielded to align with the advancements in technology. Additionally, the standard introduces requirements to ensure photobiological safety according to IEC 62471, which focuses on the potential hazards of light exposure to human health.
