Standard EN SampleInternational Electrotechnical Vocabulary - Part 192: Dependability
Also Known As:
The International Electrotechnical Vocabulary (IEV) - Part 192: Dependability is a standard that provides a comprehensive set of terminology used in the field of dependability. This standard is applicable to all areas of dependability methodology, including electrotechnical applications.
It is important to note that this document is not an exhaustive vocabulary for all standards related to dependability, and definitions for specialized terms may be found in other relevant standards.
The standard is based on a previous version, IEC 60050-191:1990, which has undergone a systematic review and revision to reflect the current usage of terms in the field of dependability. New terms from revised standards and other authoritative sources have been introduced in this revised version.
Some sections from the previous version, specifically those concerning quality of service in telecommunications and electric power systems, have been omitted as they have been adopted and developed separately by other organizations.
This standard is considered a horizontal standard according to IEC Guide 108, which provides guidelines for ensuring the coherency of IEC publications. The terminology in this standard is consistent with that developed in other specialized parts of the IEV.
It is primarily intended for use by technical committees in the preparation of standards, and it is the responsibility of these committees to incorporate the content of this standard into their publications if applicable.
