Power Transformers - Part 11: Dry-Type Transformers
Also Known As:
IEC 60076-11:2018 is a standard that applies to dry-type power transformers, specifically those with highest voltage for equipment up to and including 72.5 kV, and at least one winding operating at above 1.1 kV. It outlines the specifications and requirements for such transformers, excluding certain types like gas-filled transformers, instrument transformers, starting transformers, testing transformers, and others mentioned in the document.
The standard provides guidance for transformers where specific IEC standards are not available or for special transformers. It is a technical revision of the first edition published in 2004, with several changes implemented in this second edition. These changes include an extension of the scope up to 72.5 kV, improved enclosure management in terms of performance, consideration of dielectric and thermal features at different altitudes, introduction of new climatic classes for better customer adaptation, establishment of a relationship between location and environmental classes, more robust testing for fire behavior classes up to 1000 kVA, inclusion of a seismic class, and recommendations for amorphous transformers.
The corrigendum of March 2019 and Interpretation sheet 1 of July 2020 have been incorporated into this updated edition of the standard.
