Also Known As:
IEC 60884-1:2002+A1:2006+A2:2013 is a standard that applies to plugs and socket-outlets used for household and similar purposes. The standard specifies general requirements for these electrical devices, including their construction, materials, performance, and testing. It is applicable to both fixed and portable socket-outlets with or without an earthing contact, operating on AC power with a rated voltage between 50V and 440V, and a rated current of up to 32A. These devices may be used indoors or outdoors.
This version of the standard is a consolidation of the third edition from 2002, along with its subsequent amendment 1 from 2006 and amendment 2 from 2013. It is important to note that this consolidated version includes all the necessary information from the amendments, so there is no need to order separate copies of the amendments. This standard ensures the safety and compatibility of plugs and socket-outlets used in household and similar environments, promoting the reliable and efficient use of electrical devices.
