Standard ENFR EN FRLow-voltage switchgear and controlgear - Part 7-4: Ancillary equipment - PCB terminal blocks for copper conductors
Also Known As:
IEC 60947-7-4:2019 is a standard that specifies the requirements for PCB terminal blocks used in industrial applications. These terminal blocks are mounted and fixed on printed circuit boards, providing electrical and mechanical connections between copper conductors and the board. The standard applies to terminal blocks intended for copper conductors of various cross-sections, ranging from 0.08 mm2 to 300 mm2 (AWG 28-600 kcmil), and for circuits with a rated voltage not exceeding 1,000V AC or 1,500V DC.
The second edition of the standard, published in 2019, revises the first edition from 2013. It introduces several technical changes, including an additional test for terminal blocks with clamping units that transmit contact pressure through insulating materials. The standard also provides specific tightening torques for screws, which were previously listed in another standard. Furthermore, new criteria for verifying contact resistance are introduced, and there are clarifications and corrections in the description and test sequence of the temperature-rise test.
