Rubber Insulated Cables - Rated Voltages up to and Including 450/750 V - Part 4: Cords and Flexible Cables
Also Known As:
IEC 60245-4:2011 is a standard that specifies the requirements for cords and flexible cables with rubber insulation. These cables are designed to be used in applications with rated voltages up to and including 450/750 V. The standard ensures that these cables comply with safety and performance requirements.
The standard includes specifications for both rubber insulated and braided cords, as well as rubber insulated and rubber or polychloroprene or other equivalent synthetic elastomer sheathed cords and flexible cables. These cables should meet the requirements outlined in IEC 60245-1, and also adhere to the specific requirements defined in this part of the standard.
Some of the changes made in the 2011 edition of the standard include updates to the normative references and the dimensions for type 53 and type 57 cables, as specified in Table 3 and Table 5. It is important to note that this publication should be read alongside IEC 60245-1:2003 and IEC 60245-2:1994 for a complete understanding of the requirements and guidelines.
