This fourth edition of the standard supersedes the previous edition published in 2007 and includes significant technical changes. These changes include shifting the purpose of the document from a prescriptive testing standard to a standard that assists project teams in conforming to product standards, introducing conformance tests and quality control documentation, adapting sampling procedures to the product standard, removing the term "conformity assessment," and introducing the term "verification method."
