Live Working - Electrical Insulating Matting
Also Known As:
IEC 61111:2009 is a standard that applies to electrical insulating matting made of elastomer material. It is used as a protective floor covering in electrical installations to ensure the safety of workers. This second edition of the standard replaces the first edition published in 1992 and its subsequent Amendment 1 in 2002. The second edition has undergone significant technical revisions, including a review of requirements and test provisions, modification of the test procedure for slip resistance, and the inclusion of IEC 61318 Ed.3 for evaluating defects.
Additionally, this edition has revised existing annexes and deleted Annexes D and F, which were deemed irrelevant according to IEC 61318 Ed.3. A new normative Annex F has been introduced in this edition, focusing on the classification of defects. These changes aim to provide an updated and improved framework for the evaluation and usage of electrical insulating matting.
