Standard ENFR EN FRLive Working - Electrical Insulating Gloves
Also Known As:
IEC 60903:2014 is a standard that focuses on the safety of workers who are exposed to electrical hazards. It specifically covers electrical insulating gloves and mitts that are designed to protect workers from electric shock. The standard also includes composite gloves, which are gloves with integrated mechanical protection.
The third edition of this standard has made several significant changes. Firstly, it provides clarification on the requirements and tests for long gloves. Secondly, it introduces a new special property for gloves that are resistant to leakage current. Thirdly, the requirement for an area to mark the date of inspection has been removed.
Furthermore, the direct current (d.c.) electric tests are no longer included in the normative part of the document, but a proof test is suggested at the production level in an informative Annex E. The standard also includes guidelines for evaluating defects, based on the elements outlined in IEC 61318:2007. Additionally, a new normative Annex H provides a classification system for defects, and an informative Annex I explains the rationale behind this classification.
