High-voltage switchgear and controlgear - Part 4: Handling procedures for sulphur hexafluoride (SF6) and its mixtures
Also Known As:
IEC 62271-4:2013 is a standard that outlines the handling procedures for sulphur hexafluoride (SF6) and its mixtures in high-voltage switchgear and controlgear. This standard applies to the installation, commissioning, normal and abnormal operations, and disposal of SF6 in high voltage switchgear and controlgear. It is a technical revision that replaces the first edition of IEC/TR 62271-303 published in 2008.
The standard includes significant technical changes, such as replacing the description of the potential effects on health of SF6 byproducts with calculation methods for evaluating the potential effects (Annex H). Additionally, information about cryogenic reclaim of SF6 has been added (Annex I), as well as handling procedures for popular SF6 mixtures (Annex J).
