Standard ENFR EN FRLive Working - Voltage Detectors - Part 3: Two-Pole Low-Voltage Type
Also Known As:
The IEC 61243-3:2009 standard specifies the requirements for hand-held two-pole voltage detectors used to detect voltages in electrical systems. These detectors are designed for use with a.c. voltages up to 1,000 V at frequencies between 16 2/3 Hz and 500 Hz, as well as d.c. voltages up to 1,500 V. They can be used both indoors and outdoors under dry and humid conditions, but they should not be used in rainy conditions.
It is important to note that these voltage detectors are not intended for continuous operation and are not considered to be measuring devices. For safety requirements related to measuring devices, the IEC 61010 series should be consulted. This second edition of the standard supersedes the first edition published in 1998 and represents a technical revision.
