UL 12402-4:2020 is a standard that outlines the safety requirements for lifejackets with a performance level of 100. It applies to lifejackets used by adults, children, and infants. The standard includes modifications to clause 1, such as the inclusion of infants in the scope of application. Additionally, there are additions to clause 1 that emphasize the referencing of ISO 12402 standards to ANSI/CAN UL 12402 with the applicable Canadian/US National Differences where UL Standards exist. It also specifies that references to particular requirements within a part should include the associated DVs contained in that standard. Furthermore, the standard states that references to the use of at least in the official language(s) of the country of destination should, at a minimum, include English and French.
