IEC 60079-6:2015+AMD1:2020 CSV PDF (Not Available)

The IEC 60079-6:2015+AMD1:2020 CSV standard specifies the requirements for the design, construction, testing, and marking of Ex Equipment and Ex Components with type of protection liquid immersion "o" for use in explosive gas atmospheres.

The standard defines two levels of protection: "ob" (EPL "Mb" or "Gb") and "oc" (EPL "Gc"). Level of Protection "ob" applies to equipment with a rated voltage not exceeding 11 kV and Level of Protection "oc" applies to equipment with a rated voltage not exceeding 15 kV.

This standard supplements and modifies the general requirements of IEC 60079-0, and in case of conflict, the requirements of IEC 60079-6:2015+AMD1:2020 CSV take precedence. It is a technical revision of the third edition published in 2007.

Significant changes in the fourth edition include the redefinition of the requirements for oil immersion "o" into liquid immersion levels and the addition of requirements for protecting sparking contacts. Additional requirements have also been introduced for the protective liquid. This consolidated version includes both the fourth edition (2015) and its amendment 1 (2020), making it unnecessary to order separate amendments.
