Standard ENFR EN FRLow-voltage switchgear and controlgear - Part 5-2: Control circuit devices and switching elements - Proximity switches
Also Known As:
IEC 60947-5-2:2019 is a standard that specifies the requirements for proximity switches used in low-voltage switchgear and controlgear applications. These switches are designed to detect the presence of objects, whether metallic, non-metallic, or based on sound reflection or magnetic fields.
This fourth edition of the standard updates and replaces the previous edition published in 2007, as well as its subsequent amendment. The technical revisions included in this edition are significant. Some of the key changes mentioned in the description are as follows:
- Updates and adaptations to construction requirements based on IEC Guide 116.
- Modifications to specifications related to sensing range and operating distance.
- Introduction of new definitions and requirements for photoelectric proximity switches with background suppression.
- Updates to EMC requirements.
- Integration of environmental information requirements based on specified annexes from IEC 60947-1:2007.
- Changes to impulse withstand voltage tests and references within the standard.
- Updates to informative annexes, including definitions, dimensions, and shapes.
- Additional symbols for photoelectric proximity switches.
