Standard ENFR EN FRMiniature Fuses - Part 2: Cartridge Fuse-Links
Also Known As:
IEC 60127-2:2014 standard specifies the requirements for cartridge fuse-links used in miniature fuses with dimensions of 5 mm x 20 mm and 6.3 mm x 32 mm. These fuse-links are designed to protect electric appliances, electronic equipment, and their component parts in indoor applications. However, this standard does not apply to fuse-links used in appliances intended for use in corrosive or explosive atmospheres.
The purpose of this standard is to define additional and special test methods for cartridge fuse-links, in addition to the requirements set forth in IEC 60127-1. This third edition of the standard supersedes the second edition published in 2010 and includes four new standard sheets (7 to 10). It is essential to read this publication in conjunction with IEC 60127-1:2006.
The standard aims to establish the necessary guidelines and criteria to ensure the safe and reliable operation of cartridge fuse-links in miniature fuses. Compliance with this standard helps manufacturers produce robust and high-quality cartridge fuse-links that meet the specific requirements for protecting electrical and electronic equipment.
