Also Known As:
ISO 13400-2:2019 is a standard that defines the requirements for diagnostic communication over Internet Protocol (DoIP) in road vehicles. It outlines the communication between the client DoIP entity and the server(s) installed in the vehicle using IP, TCP, and UDP protocols. The standard covers both secured and unsecured communication.
The standard specifies the features that facilitate the detection and communication with the vehicle gateway and its sub-components during various vehicle states. These features are categorized into mandatory and optional. The mandatory features include vehicle network integration, vehicle announcement and discovery, retrieval of basic status information, connection establishment and maintenance, data routing, and error handling.
In addition to the mandatory features, the standard also identifies optional features such as DoIP entity status monitoring, transport layer security (TLS), and firewall capabilities of the DoIP entity.
