Standard EN SampleIndustrial Automation Systems and Integration - Product Data Representation and Exchange - Part 49: Integrated Generic Resources: Process Structure and Properties
Also Known As:
ISO 10303-49:1998, also known as Industrial Automation Systems and Integration - Product Data Representation and Exchange - Part 49: Integrated Generic Resources: Process Structure and Properties, specifies the resource constructs necessary for specifying actions or potential actions to effect a process. It defines the structure for specifying relationships between processes, the effectivity of a process, the properties of a process and the resources required for the process.
This standard also covers the representation of processes and resources, as well as the relationship of the process to the product. It allows for the assembly of these integrated resource constructs to create a process plan.
However, it should be noted that this standard does not make a distinction between executed and non-executed process plans, and it does not address administrative information within a process plan. It also doesn't define specific processes or process plans, and it excludes continuous processes that require interrupts, alarms, and other messaging service requirements. Scheduling, process planning, peer-to-peer communication mechanisms, and process control are also outside the scope of this standard.
The capabilities for process control and peer-to-peer communication are defined by other ISO standards such as ISO/IEC 9506. These standards deal with the communication and interworking of programmable devices in industrial process control systems. ISO 10303-49 can be related to ISO/IEC 9506 through an application resource or protocol specification.
