Standard for Exhibition Display Units, Fabrication and Installation
Also Known As:
The UL 2305:2018 standard outlines the requirements for exhibition display unit constructions intended for indoor use at temporary expositions, exhibits, conventions, meetings, or assemblies. These units may be used for illuminating, animating, activating, or displaying purposes.
The standard covers exhibition display units rated at 600 volts AC or less and includes specifications for portable trade show displays, hanging components, and other exhibit assemblies. It also addresses the use of light boxes in conjunction with exhibition display units.
However, it is important to note that the standard specifically excludes certain types of products and materials from its scope, such as exhibitor equipment and products displayed within the exhibition display unit, combustible materials stored within the unit, and various types of equipment and materials, including natural gas-fired equipment, cooking equipment, open flame devices, and radiation-producing devices among others.
Additionally, the standard emphasizes that any product containing new or different features, components, materials, or systems that pose a fire or electric shock risk or a risk of injury to individuals must be evaluated using appropriate additional requirements to maintain safety levels. Proposed revisions to the standard must be made through the established methods for development, revision, and implementation.
