Also Known As:
The IEC 60598-2-22:2021 standard specifies the particular requirements for emergency luminaires used with electrical lamps on emergency power supplies up to 1,000 V. This latest edition of the standard replaces the previous edition from 2014 and includes several technical revisions. Some of the notable changes in this edition include updates to the requirements for rest mode and inhibiting mode, clarification of high temperature operation tests, and the introduction of new requirements for lithium batteries and electric double layer capacitors (EDLCs).
Additionally, the standard provides clarity on the resistance of luminaires to heat, fire, and tracking. It also offers clarification on the test facilities required for self-contained luminaires and the test method for contrast measurements of exit signs.
